Peter Taylor – Day 4 – South Harting to Graffham

Donate to Peter’s JustGiving

Peter starts early today, at 9am, and travels from South Harting to Graffham, approximately 12 miles in total, with some very hilly terrain to navigate, approximately 1600ft uphill, and down again! However, Peter has his priorities straight:

About 18 km [to walk]. I need to get to a pub for 3 pm to get Sunday lunch !

A terribly tough walk today for Peter:

A really tough day today. 7.5 hours with 1.5 hours of rain. I went to the Woodcote Inn in Graffham for a late Sunday lunch wearing my Uckfield Rugby shirt. I collected 55 pounds cash in the bar. With a special mention to Ben and Dania as well as the other pub patrons and it’s manager. Better weather tomorrow I hope!

Set off at 9 am this morning. Having climbed back up to the trail this is the view back to south Harting. The white hart is 100 yards to the right of the church spire.
Going up !
Another depressing sign !
The trail.
American airman's gravestone in the middle of nowhere !
Came across this German officers gravestone in the forest miles from anywhere. He died on the 13 August, which is the same day as my birthday albeit 10 years earlier.
