New Laws
These are the new laws introduced by the RFU at the Under 13 age group to help children play and develop their rugby skills, with each age group progressing incrementally through the game's core elements.
Scrum — (6v6)
U13 moves toward 6v6 scrums with contesting permitted and limited pushing. This age introduces the "number 8" role at the back of the scrum.
- 6v6 format of comfortable, confident scrum players. Includes 3 front-row, 2 2nd-row and 1 number 8
- Maximum of 1.5m push permitted.
- Limited to maximum 45 degree wheel before reset.
- Scrums can be uncontested if players are not comfortable in position.
