A Landmark Moment for URFC – Our New Clubhouse & Community Hub Is Within Reach

We are delighted to share some truly exciting news. Uckfield Rugby Football Club has secured major funding from Wealden District Council, bringing our long-planned clubhouse extension and multi-sport community hub significantly closer to reality. This investment is a huge vote of confidence in our club, our people, and our long-term vision for sport and wellbeing in Uckfield.

This project will create a modern, accessible, and inclusive facility that serves far more than rugby. When complete, the upgraded clubhouse will benefit:

  • Men’s, women’s, youth, minis, SEN and walking rugby
  • Netball, stoolball, and padel players
  • Health, wellbeing and fitness groups
  • Darts and social leagues
  • Charities and respite care organisations
  • Schools and youth services
  • Local businesses and community organisations

The extension will double changing capacity, provide medical and wellbeing space, add flexible community rooms, improve accessibility with a lift, introduce sustainable heating, and incorporate EV charging—creating a safe, warm, year-round activity hub for the entire town.

What We Still Need – And How We’ll Get There

Although the Wealden grant is a huge boost, it still leaves us £90,000 short of the full project budget.

We are confident we can close this gap through a combination of:

  • Targeted fundraising campaigns
  • A “Buy a Brick” supporter scheme launching January 2026
  • Events, sponsorship opportunities, and community backing

Every pound raised will go directly toward delivering a facility that supports sport, wellbeing, social connection, and community resilience across Uckfield and the wider district.

With your help, we are on track for an Autumn 2026 opening.

We Need You – Skills, Support & Volunteer Help

As we move toward the build phase, we are calling on members, sponsors, friends of the club, and the wider community who may be able to assist—either voluntarily or in a paid capacity.

If you have skills in the building trades, engineering, groundworks, electrics, carpentry, decoration, project support, or any other relevant area, please get in touch. Your expertise could make a real difference.

Together, We’re Building More Than a Clubhouse

This project is about more than bricks and mortar.
It’s about creating an environment where every age, every ability, every family, and every corner of our community has a place to belong, to connect, and to thrive.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far—and to those who will help us power through the final stretch. Together, we will deliver something extraordinary for Uckfield Rugby club and our local community.
