The Pub 10 Laws

[/vc_column_text][icon_timeline timeline_line_style=”solid” timeline_line_color=”#770be2″ time_block_bg_color=”#eded87″][icon_timeline_feat time_title=”Laws” title_font_style=”font-weight:bold;” title_font_size=”desktop:24px;” desc_font_size=”desktop:16px;”]In 10-a-side rugby, there are only five forwards and five backs in the side with each half lasting only 10-minutes each. Two props, a hooker and two locks make up the forwards, while the backs consist of a scrum-half, fly-half, centre, winger, and fullback.

A scrum must have five players in two rows from each team. The front row consists of two props and a hooker and the second row consists of two locks. All five must stay bound to the scrum until it ends and may not unbind to play the ball. The Scrum is only over when the ball comes out of the scrum in any direction except the tunnel or when the scrum half plays the ball.

As with seven-a-side rugby, the team that manages to score a try restarts the game, and only drop kicks can be used to score a goal. Conversions –as in rugby sevens – must be scored with a drop kick and done within 40-seconds of a try or it will be discounted. Similarly, suspensions also last two minutes instead of the 10-minutes in 15s game.[/icon_timeline_feat][icon_timeline_feat time_title=”Squads” title_font_size=”desktop:24px;” desc_font_size=”desktop:16px;”]Each squad should have no more than 20 players. A squad of 15 or less must have 4 players comfortable to play in the Front Row, 16-20 should have a 5th nominated Front Row player. The tournament is aimed at players who play at Level 8 or below.

Substitutions are unlimited and players may rejoin the field after being removed.[/icon_timeline_feat][icon_timeline_feat time_title=”Tournament” title_font_size=”desktop:24px;” desc_font_size=”desktop:16px;”]The tournament will consist of two round-robin leagues of either 4 or 5 teams.
