The MooMoo's

Under 12 Girls

The MooMoo’s are growing stronger and more skilful every season, and this year marks another big step in their rugby journey! Moving up to 5v5 scrums with a competitive hook, the girls are developing real power and precision up front — and loving the challenge. With the addition of open-play kicking (“fly-hacking”), restarts, and the freedom to maul, the game is opening up and giving these players even more ways to showcase their determination and flair.

What truly defines the MooMoo’s, though, is their brilliant attitude — they play with courage, teamwork, and a huge amount of fun. Every training session is filled with energy, laughter, and a real sense of togetherness, both on and off the field.

Always welcoming new players, the MooMoo’s are the perfect team for anyone keen to learn, make friends, and be part of a supportive, spirited group. With heart, hustle, and a lot of MOO-mentum, these girls are charging ahead into a fantastic season!

The MooMoo’s are a composite team, featuring players from Uckfield, Lewes and Haywards Heath. In true rugby spirit, their originating team doesn’t bother them and they play wonderfully together and support each other with every performance and training session.

New Laws

These are the new laws introduced by the RFU at the Under 12 age group to help children play and develop their rugby skills, with each age group progressing incrementally through the game's core elements.

Ruck - Unrestricted

Rucks are now unrestricted; full ruck laws apply with no restriction to player count from either side.

  • No restrictions to number of players that can be in a ruck.
  • A ruck is considered a ruck when 1 player from either side is competing for the ball
  • Players must enter ruck from their own sides.

  • A maul starts when the ball carrier is held by one or more opponents.
