Peter Taylor – Day 8 – Lewes to Alfriston

Today is the penultimate day of Peter’s walk, and Peter’s weary legs take him from Lewes to Alfriston (or at least we hope they will!), approximately 11.5 miles compared to yesterdays 18.

After yesterday where he was struggling to finish the last stretch:

When I got to ditchling beacon yesterday I was done. My feet were killing me. The lovely Lisa Harding met me at the beacon and carried my Rucksack all the way to Lewes. Without her help I would not have made it.

This should be a walk in the park; however, after the toll of the previous 7 days, with yesterday on top, Peter’s legs may need a long soak in the bath when he finds the sea!

In Peter’s own words:

Just about to leave. Only two days to go. My feet are not fully recovered!

Wish him luck, 2 days left, almost in the home stretch Peter!

The penultimate day is complete! Peter’s feet are showing signs of wear, that’s for sure, but 7.5 hours today done!

[Today’s] weather was perfect. The views north and south were spectacular. I could even see a large boat leaving New Haven harbour. It’s good to be back in East Sussex and on familiar territory.
