End of Season Celebrations

Since the start of the season in September, over 170 players have represented URFC, with players aged 5 to 17 training and playing most Sundays – that’s 33 fantastic weeks of rugby!

The Minis section (U7 – U11) played at 9 festivals across the county, culminating in our very own festival on April 23rd. The event welcomed 750 players from 11 clubs across the county playing a total of 320 matches!

The U12s had their first experience of league rugby this year and won 3 of their 6 league matches, including one played away in Jersey – an amazing day! Our U13/14s won 5 of their 6 league games, winning the Sussex U13 League.

The U14 girls team won 4 out of 6 games. They topped the East Sussex league at Christmas and brought their season to an end with a fantastic 2-day festival at Worthing.  The newly formed U9-U12 girls development team saw 6 players represent the club in the Sussex Baa Baas team, winning 5 games out of 6!

Truly remarkable results from all players. The season came to a close on May 7th when we celebrated everyone’s achievements and awarded Clubman, Most Improved Player, Players’ Player and Player of the Season awards for each age group.
